Descrizione

Possono raggiungere i 41 cm di lunghezza totale. Spina dorsale (totale): 0; Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 12-13; Colonna vertebrale anale 0; Raggi anali molli: 8. Muso più di 4 volte in lunghezza della testa; larghezza interorbitale più di 2 volte la larghezza della testa; profondità della testa più di 2 volte la lunghezza della testa; profondità dell'opercolo superiore a 3,4 volte la lunghezza della testa; bianco argenteo. Diffusione

Sono endemici del Lago Tana in Etiopia. Su substrati fangosi, sabbiosi e rocciosi in tutto il Lago Tana, preferibilmente in acque più profonde di 6 m. (Testo da: www.fishbase.se).
